Outreach on July 1, 2025
Our second year, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the hundreds of people who came by our ministry booth at the Steveston Salmon Festival on July 1st was an experience to remember. Excitement! Joy! Fun!
To share the only Good News that has eternal significance and value. To say the least, Jacquelyn, Sohani and I were “in our element”. We were blessed to be there and have the opportunity to talk with so many people and sow the Word.
What a privilege it was to witness to the community of people who stopped by to pick up a Gospel, Our Daily Bread for Children, bookmarks, tracts, bibles and so much more that we provided, at our ministry booth.
There was one lady who took the Our Daily Bread booklet titled “Life After Loss”. She shared that it’s been over 5 years since her husband passed away but she still feels the loss heavily at times. So many meaningful conversations happened at the booth this year and we were able to pray for people while sharing the Gospel. It was a joy to meet so many people, children, youth, young adults, adults and seniors.
This July we celebrated our 5th Ministry Anniversary doing what He has called us to do – to be a witness for Him, by being present at the Canada Day event in Steveston.
Over the past 5 years, while doing street ministry, especially in the Whalley area, we have given over 1000 Care Packs which has either the Gospel of John or the Daily Bread. We have witnessed to over 2000 people approximately by being outside where the harvest is.
We thank God for everyone who has contributed to the ministry in so many ways. May the Lord multiply back to you and bless you exceedingly.
I have shared some pictures of the July 1st outreach:).

1 Peter 3:15 “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;

A Call To UNsubscribe
“…may You be merciful towards our unrighteousness, help us to unsubscribe from things in our lives that are distracting us. I pray each of us will take stock of our lives and ask ourselves; why am I even involved in this? Why am I in this relationship? Why am I entertaining these thoughts? Help us to unsubscribe from everything that makes us lukewarm towards You….”
I met Chantelle while on vacation in Madeira, Portugal, and we bonded instantly. After I returned home, she would occasionally record prayers on WhatsApp, and send them to me. I have truly been blessed by her sincere prayers and this particular one, invited me to do some deep, honest, soul searching Her introspective questions challenged me to examine my life in the light of them
What have I subscribed to that is making me lukewarm towards Christ?
The definition of ‘subscribe’ is “– arrange to receive something regularly, express or feel agreement with -“. So, this means when we subscribe to something, we are saying “I agree with you”, “I like what you have to say”, “Send me more content like this”, “I support you”.
Social media will never run out of new and exciting content to keep us engaged. We oversubscribe to tv channels, follow trendy fashion, and the latest diet. It’s seemingly innocent and fun, but we engage in it to an extent that steals our time, energy and focus. We give permission for their constant streams to influence our minds, which will eventually influence our decisions, and lifestyle.
However, what can really make us lukewarm towards Christ is the habit of oversubscribing to biblical teachings, youtube videos and sermons that can replace God’s still small voice. Our dependency on spiritual narratives from so many voices in the world, opens the door to confusion and deception.
Revelation 3:16
“So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth”.
We learn and grow from the teachings and instructions of those whom the Lord has appointed as leaders over us. However, when we don’t have a personal relationship with the Lord, our eyes shift from Christ, to every person on well known platforms, and we make altars to spiritual experiences, rather than being grounded in God’s Word. Their words replace God’s Word, and who we follow becomes the final authority on spiritual matters.
Just like Google sometimes notifies us “storage full”, we too can become ‘full’ with an overload of spiritual content that may not entirely be the pure unadulterated Word.
This prayer was a call to make a conscious decision to declutter my mind from things that I had subscribed to over the years, that was blurring God’s call to walk in obedience.
Now is the time to ask the Holy Spirit to help us set up godly filters, designed to protect our hearts and minds from everything that has made us mediocre Christians, and echo Chantelle’s prayer ;
“Help us to unsubscribe from everything that is distracting us, and making us lukewarm towards You.”
