Ministry Launch & Update

The Vision for this ministry was given to me by the Lord in 2018. I was afraid to move forward as I had so many questions including ‘did I really hear from the Lord’? I prayed many hours for days, weeks and months and asked for confirmation which was given through people who had no idea what the Lord had instructed me to do.

In May of 2020 the Lord reminded me and I knew I have to obey so in July 2020  Sound of the Lord Mission was registered as a Non-Profit Society in Canada.
When I look back over the last 2 years I can see how the Lord transitioned me out of a Corporate work environment into working in His Harvest Field – to be a missionary for the Lord!

This is the Lord’s doing and it has been, is, and will continue to be an amazing adventure. I am thankful for a committed and dedicated team of like minded missionaries who have joined the ministry. We have, since July 2020 done one outreach every month. In total for this year up to the end of November we have gifted over 100 care packs, gift cards to buy coffee and breakfasts and also gifted warm clothing, gloves, torques, hand warmers, socks, scarves and other items to those most in need.

We also gifted a Christmas Hamper to another ministry to bless a family who would otherwise have not had a nice Christmas. The hamper included toys and blanket for the baby and other items plus  $75 gift cards to Shoppers, $50 to Walmart and as the mother in this family takes transit, a compass card with $100 loaded into it. The kind generosity of the team that is Sound of the Lord Mission made this possible.

I am grateful and thankful that the Lord’s name is glorified and people are blessed through our mission.

In the monthly newsletters going forward, we will feature a missionary every month in addition to keeping you informed of ministry activity.

THE POWER OF CONSTANT PRAYER
Acts 12: 5 – 10
Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.” So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. 10 When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.

There was no natural way that Peter could have got out. The supernatural took place because God heard the constant prayer that was offered by the church.  The angel who opened that door for Peter is still around. Many angels are around us and they are waiting on God’s people to speak God’s language, to speak God’s Word so that they can do their part in building God’s kingdom.  This angel spoke to Peter, he woke him uphelped Peter to get dressed, led him past prison guards and into liberty. Get ready for the supernatural, position yourself, put away everything that hinders and distracts.

Redeem the time and maintain a strong prayer life. Stay Blessed!
