The Benefit of Knowing God’s Word

Psalm 103:2

Recently there was a Recovery Benefit announced by the government to the residents of BC, Canada. I didn’t know of this benefit until a friend told me about it. If she hadn’t mentioned it to me, I would not have applied and would  not have received the money, even though I qualified.

There are many benefits  available to us as children of the Most High.  Inviting Jesus into our heart to be our Lord and Saviour  opens the door to every blessing He has for us however we will not receive unless we read the Word and believe what Jesus has made available to us through His sacrificial death, burial and resurrection. Then we can receive by faith.

Psalm 103 verse 2
Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits

The Israelites were entitled to inherit the Promised Land but it wasn’t handed to them on a silver platter. Many fell in the wilderness and never set eyes on their promise because the shackles of lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life weighed them down.

Two thousand years later, the children of God are still battling the same enemy, whose game plan hasn’t changed much.

Ignorance of the Word and the benefits God has made available to us, and a mind that refuses to change old patterns of thinking that keeps them bound to the sinful nature of the soul are some of the barriers to living a productive and exciting life in and through the Lord..

God said in Hosea 4:6 ‘My people perish for lack of knowledge…”and it is in this state of mind that most believers seem content to stay. In a place of stagnation, complacency and being satisfied with their lot.

Feeling happy does not necessarily mean you are in the perfect will of God. Likewise, trials do not mean you are living in sin.

Friends, don’t let anything hold you back this year. Read God’s Word, be a diligent student of His Word and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal the Truth.

Let go of the things you cannot change, leave the past in the past, keep in step with the Spirit in the present and reach forward!. Be blessed!

March 2021 Ministry – Richmond  BC

We donated two $50 gift cards to Freshco to the Hamper Program run by a church in Richmond.

There are children going to school without sufficient food. These families are helped through the Hamper Program which provides milk, eggs and other nutritious food.

It was a blessing and a privilege to give to these children.

March 2021 Ministry – Surrey BC

On Sunday, March 14th we did Street Ministry, outreach in Whalley, Surrey BC. It was raining and cold. I was surprised to see so many people huddled under umbrellas and plastic coverings which was not much shelter from the rain. I saw too many faces with hopeless expressions seated under these flimsy shelters from the weather.

When we were planning this outreach we thought it would be a sunny day but as it turned out, it was wet weather. Rain or sunshine, the ministry must continue.

When Jesus blessed and multiplied the loaves and fish He did not say to the people ‘if you believe in Me, I will give you a meal” Jesus fed all the people who were there.

There are times when we must meet the immediate need with no questions asked. Love on people with the love and compassion of the Lord. When people are hungry / starving then giving them food is the first priority.

When we did our Christmas outreach on December 25th we heard repeated requests for food. We are hoping to continue with providing meals whenever possible.

The full meal we gave to 30 people seemed like a drop in the ocean but at least those 30 people had a good warm lunch on the 14th.

Let us be doers of Proverbs 21:13 Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor will also cry himself and not be heard.

We are thankful for the team that the Lord has joined together as Sound of the Lord Mission. Grateful thanks and blessings on everyone going on the street outreaches, for praying, attending our Bible Study on Thursday evenings, volunteering  time on the Board and in so many other ways, giving financially to help us feed the poor and provide everyday essentials to people who are in need.

This is a picture of the body of Christ coming together, in a small way but making big waves 🙂 That’s what happens when the Lord is in the Centre of it all!

We give honour, praise and glory to the Lord!

Mark 11: 23 & 24
For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
