GO! Why? Because Jesus Said So!
July 1st, 2026. Hundreds of people came by our ministry booth and received Gospels, Tracts, Our Daily Bread books, Good vs Evil comic books which were a magnet for the youth, bookmarks, bracelets with Scripture on it and bibles. In total we gave over 800 items.
Very meaningful conversations took place, too many to share in this newsletter but I will share one. A lady stopped by the booth and when I offered her the Gospel and a tract which I had written, she declined and said, “I am Sikh”. However, she continued to stand there and wanted to talk with me about her family so I listened and we chatted for a few minutes then she said ‘bye’ and left. I smiled and said bye. About an hour or so later, she returned to the booth and asked me “Can I have what you offered me before?” I gave her the Gospel and the tract and asked her to take anything she would like, from the table.
That, I believe is the work of the Holy Spirit. We are yoked with the Lord and He has given us the easy work to do, to GO and be His witnesses. God does what only He can do, touch people and – save, deliver, heal! Hallelujah! May this lady and everyone who we ministered to, behold Jesus as their Saviour!
What a thrill to be at this event for the 3rd consecutive year and so much fun too as we met other believers who thanked us for being there to share the good news of Jesus. For the first time, I wrote a tract for the ministry and we printed 250 of these and gave out 227. We planted seed and believe there will be a mighty harvest of souls for the Lord!
Same as the last 2 years, this year’s backdrop too was a huge beacon in the Net Shed where we were. People were taking pictures of the backdrop, videoing and taking selfies. May the Lord expound to them, the rich truth of John 3:16.

FIRST THINGS FIRST
A 1872 J. Swift Microscope sits on top of our cabinet in the living room. It’s a beautiful bronze antique piece with so many intricate parts. It came neatly assembled in a wooden box.
A few months back we rearranged our living room and decided to put it away for lack of space, but no one could figure out how to put it back into the box. There were just too many pieces after we disassembled and they didn’t seem to all fit.
Sometimes our lives can feel that way. Chaotic seasons, confusing events, and broken pieces laying at our feet. Regrets, fear, shame, disappointments, sickness, unfulfilled dreams, betrayal, trauma, anger, unforgiveness….. the list is endless. We get exhausted trying to put things back in order and frustrated with the Lord because sometimes, nothing seems to make sense. The pieces just don’t seem to fit.
If we had the manual to guide us through the process of packing away the microscope, we would succeed – if we follow the step-by-step instructions. We cannot do step 4 until we do step 2. The pieces they want us to put back in step 5, cannot be done in step 1.
In the same way, God calls us to follow a sequential process sometimes. He cannot move us to the next phase until we obey Him in the current phase. God doesn’t hold out on our blessings on purpose, but His Father’s heart will not allow a blessing that He knows cannot be handled by the current version of ourselves.

33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Seeking His kingdom first, needs to be central to our lives. From the very core of our being we need to cultivate a genuine passion and a deep hunger for His Word. The presence of God, and a daily, consistent walk with Him will keep our feet from being taken by the snares of the enemy. We face needless delays, pain and loss because we refuse to do things in order, God’s way.
Sometimes, when prayer doesn’t seem to be moving things forward, it is good to retreat into our prayer closet and ask ourselves some reflective questions:
- Am I asking for a financial blessing while not being a good steward of what I already have?
- Am I asking for healing while living a careless, self-indulgent life?
- Am I praying for reconciliation in a relationship but refusing to take accountability for my own actions?
- Am I blaming others for my current situation which is way easier than changing my own ways?
Don’t run ahead. Keep step with the Lord and do what He is asking you to do first. Tomorrow’s blessings sometimes depend on today’s obedience. Most answers to our prayers will automatically materialize when we do the first things first.
James Swift will be able to put the microscope back into the box without a manual because he invented it. How much more the Lord, who has numbered the very hairs on your head, knows how to put the pieces of our lives back together again.
It is never too late when our Father steps in to set things in order. We need to only give Him permission to show us what needs to be done first, and then obey.
