A Visit to a Retirement Home in Delta, BC

A Visit to a Retirement Home in Delta, BC
Isaiah 46:4
Even to your old age, I am He,
And even to gray hairs I will carry you!
I have made, and I will bear;
Even I will carry, and will deliver you.
On November 2nd, Sheryl and I visited a friend who has recently moved to a Retirement Home in Delta. I have visited other Homes for Elders in various cities throughout the Lower Mainland to pray for people but this was Sheryl’s first time stepping into this environment. The facility was well maintained, clean and spacious. We had a meaningful visit, prayed with the friend, talked with others and as we were leaving, Sheryl said that she would like to go back and visit again to spend more time with the seniors.
I had felt the same while we were there, that this was not going to be a one time visit but an open door to share the Gospel.
In Isaiah 46:4 the Lord has said He will carry us in our old age. Jesus cares for seniors. He has not forgotten them and they need to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. We have planned a day to go again this month and do a Christmas visit.
If you would like to go with us, please contact me. We are in the praying stage at this point and the Lord will direct and guide us as we wait upon Him. Our vision is to be missionaries to whosoever will believe and receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The harvest is plenty and this is a whole community that needs to hear the Gospel, receive the love, compassion and mercy of Jesus.
I am looking forward to ending 2025 well and stepping into what the Lord has planned for us in 2026. In every new year, may Psalm 65:11 come to pass “You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance.”. May it be so for 2026.

Pre-Construction Condo
Several years ago, my friend bought a ‘Pre-Construction” condominium. She paid a deposit toward her future home, even before the foundation was laid. In a pre-construction sale, the only thing you may see, could be a design, and a floor plan. My friend liked the proposal presented by the developer so she took a leap of faith and signed the contract.
She foresaw the end result, based solely on the developer’s word. She believed it would materialize by the estimated completion date, and bought things for her new home, while waiting for it to become a reality.
As believers, we get to envision an end result and be the developer, and designer of our lives. How we do this is by ‘calling those things that are not, as if they were’. Our lives today are mostly the result of what we have called into reality by our words, stemming from deep rooted convictions and beliefs, driven by our thoughts and mindsets.
The foundation we lay, walls we erect, the doors we open and close are a result of how our faith has been shaped by our thinking, and words. Since the trajectory of our lives depend so much on what we believe, we should pay careful attention to make sure the doctrine, and knowledge we have accumulated over the years, align with God’s Word. It would be a shame to live a life as a believer and not avail ourselves of His promises.
Romans 4:17
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before Him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
God called forth generations from Abram and Sarai when they were both well beyond their fertile years. Sarai laughed and Abram doubted, but nevertheless, chose to believe.
He called forth something out of nothing. “I have made thee a father..” God had already done it. The end result was spoken before they held Isaac in their arms. Generations that even Abram and Sarai didn’t live to see, were affected because of that promise.
We too have been given the authority to do the same.
For the Lord to follow through with signs and wonders, we must ‘call forth those things’, even though some of those things seem impossible, given the circumstances.
- Call forth barren wombs to bear
- Call forth broken relationships to flourish
- Call forth your complete healing
- Call forth future generations as God fearing
- Call forth the hidden treasure of this world to come into your hands
Did you know that every word we speak, whether positive or negative, is calling forth something?
Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
What do you plan to call forth into your life in the New Year? If you see areas in your life that is a result of careless words and negative habits, don’t dwell there. God is not a God of condemnation. Rather, He is inviting you to step into a new journey with Him. He has given you the Spirit of an Overcomer. Study to understand your position in Christ and the power that is yours, to change your life and circumstances. Make a decision to diligently renew your mind with the truth and unlearn former ways of thinking, as and when the Holy Spirit teaches you a more perfect way.
Don’t look back at the past with regret, but look ahead with anticipation, for He is about to do a new thing in your life. The Word is more reliable than a developer’s word. The God of covenant, will make His Word come to pass in everything that concerns you in the New Year.
