Healing is God's will

March 22nd we partnered with Pacific Life Bible College for street ministry outreach in Whalley with students and staff. One person accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour. Hallelujah! what joy :).
Luke 15:7
I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
Heaven rejoices. More precious than the care packs we gave out, the free gift of salvation is the greatest gift anyone can receive!
March 23rd we partnered with Nightshift Ministries and gave desserts and coffee for 200 people at a sit down Easter Dinner. It is truly a privilege to serve. Our Lord is right beside each of us as we go about our Father’s Business in serving, sharing the good news and being a witness for Jesus.
March 26th Debbie, Marilyn and I went to the Surrey Memorial hospital to visit and pray for someone on dialysis treatment as his kidney function had dropped to 2% and he also had other medical issues including that he had a blood clot on his leg and was not able to move it. His demeanour and conversation had been “I’m done”, and similar words of hopelessness. The dr. had said he will be in the hospital for weeks. We prayed for him for healing and a few minutes later his conversation changed to “I’m coming home” – Jesus brings hope to the hopeless! On March 28th, two friends had visited him again and saw that he was able to move his leg and was recovering. The last update I received from Marilyn was that he is off the saline drip, (warfarin for the blood clot) and is doing great. Please pray with us for his complete healing and that he will receive Jesus as his Lord and Saviour.
In Matthew 9:35 we see Jesus healing every sickness and every disease. It IS His will to heal. As we celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus, remember that there is healing in the Atonement – “by His stripes we are healed” – Isaiah 53:5.
When we pray and decree healing, it is important that our conversation line up with what we prayed. This applies to anything we are praying for, not just physical healing. If we pray the promises in the Word and in the next breath speak defeat and doubt then we are being double minded. Let’s stay in faith believing. Let our conversation line up with what we have prayed, and leave the results in the Lord’s hands.

The Light Within
Matthew 5:16
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
For my 50th birthday celebration we had led balloons. It was definitely a hit with the kids and adults. The led light shone through the balloon, drawing everyone’s attention away from the rest of the ordinary balloons. It was something uncommon and there was a line up to take one home after the party. Surprisingly, the one my daughter brought home lasted several months, but eventually flickered out and died.
Jesus said He is the light of the world while He was walking on this earth.
John 9:5
While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
And He also said we are the light of the world, followed by a command.
Matthew 5:14, 16
“You are the light of the world
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Because Christ is in us, this light, unlike the led balloon, never fades over time, draws people with the purpose of glorifying the Father and will never flicker out and die.
Today, we see many strange and counterfeit ‘lights’ that are drawing the attention of unbelievers and believers alike, leading people astray.
Any method or practice that encourages people to be self-sufficient and look within themselves for the power to overcome, rather than at Christ, is a counterfeit.
We should not be surprised however, because we are warned that Satan and his messengers are like the light.
2 Corinthians 11:14-15
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
They appear as ministers of righteousness, but are not sent by God.
What are some of the practices that modern society embraces as a means to peace, fulfilment and prosperity?
- The power of positive thinking
- New age
- Christian science
- Transcendental Meditation
- Neuro Linguistic Programming
There are hundreds of self-help, self-improvement and how-to books, and online resources that woo people away from the true light.
However, not all who engage in these practices are doing so willfully, but are genuinely on a quest to find their identity and purpose in life. They yearn to fulfill a deep void in them that only Christ can, but are swept away with the multitudes who are searching and seeking answers to questions, grasping at anything that looks remotely like a solution. These methods don’t appear wicked and sinful on the surface but twist the truth to become a snare to those that choose to believe it.
It is imperative to remember that, we, the church, are called to be the evidence of His resurrection. It is our mandate to carry His light, with our good deeds as its rays that beam far and wide, so all may glorify the Father.
As we celebrate the Resurrection of the one true God, Jesus Christ, may His light radiate from each one of us, bringing hope and joy to all the world.
