Ministry In May
Join Us for a Mega Outreach on July 1, 2025
We are planning & working to have a ministry booth at the Steveston Salmon Festival in Richmond again this year on July 1st. We also celebrate our 5th ministry anniversary this year.
Thousands of people attend the Steveston Salmon Festival in Richmond, and it is an open door for us to share the Gospel, to be there and be a witness for the Lord.
Matthew 4:19
Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Let’s follow the Lord and go catch fish!
We would be very thankful and grateful if you could please:
Pray for this outreach.
Donate tracts, Gospels, Bibles, Children’s books, (English, Mandarin, Arabic and Tagalog). They should be new, not used books.
Donate through etransfer soundofthelordmission@gmail.com or online through our website to cover the costs associated with having a booth at this event.
We thank God for all our donors for sending us out into the harvest fields.
If you have any suggestions, please contact me. We would love to hear from you and receive ideas and advice. Thank you!

The Override
I shuffled my feet impatiently, glancing back at the growing number of irritated shoppers standing in line behind me at the grocery store, some asking the cashier to call someone to open another counter.
The customer being served was demanding (rather loudly) that the store honor the sale price displayed on the shelf for an item, as the cash register was showing the original price.
“I’m sorry but I have to get a manager’s override”, said the flustered cashier.
The manager arrived, apologizing for the delay. He swiped his card, entered his code and overrode the system. The shopper walked out with a “thank you” and a smile.
Imagine that! The power to override the system and bypass the usual operation of the program. I wondered how many others assumed the system was right and paid the full price.
Did you know the Lord can override any negative situation in our lives too? Jesus paid with His own blood so we can confidently say “No, this blessing, this healing, this breakthrough is mine. I don’t have to pay that price.”
We see many situations in the Word where the Lord intervened with His ‘override’.
- Baalam wanted to curse the Israelites, but the Lord used His divine ‘override’ and warned him that whom God has blessed, no man can curse. – (Numbers 23:11-12)
- Lazarus should have remained dead but Jesus spoke life over him and overrode death. (John 11:43)
- Every time there is a healing recorded in the Word, we see God’s ‘override’ at work. (Mark 10:52, Acts 3:6, Mark 5:34)
Now imagine if the store manager gave his swipe card to that customer, and said “You can swipe this card anytime or for anyone you want”.
The authority and power that he has earned as the manager, was being freely transferred to the customer.
Jesus gave us the keys to the Kingdom.
Matthew 16:19
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
What are we doing with the power and authority He has given us? Are we still paying full price even after Jesus said He has paid for it? Many of us miss countless breakthroughs and suffer needless pain due to ignorance, fear or timidity, unwilling to stand our ground and claim what rightfully belongs to us.
Hosea 4:6 says “My people perish for lack of knowledge”.
My people. Not the heathen or unbelievers. God’s children are perishing.
Let’s commit to the intentional study of the Word and allow scripture to rule, dictate and influence our lives daily. When the truth of God’s Word is deeply embedded in our hearts and minds, we cannot be deceived by the lies of the enemy.
Psalm 103:1-5
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Ministry in May
May has been an extremely busy but wonderfully exciting month starting with sharing a presentation on the work of Sound of the Lord Mission and sharing the Word at the Ladies Fellowship at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Richmond on May 3rd. It was also a great time to re-connect with my friends June and Heather who were an integral part of the Inter-church prayer team that I started in Richmond to pray for the churches and city.
On May 23rd, Sheryl and I went out on the streets of Whalley to share God’s Word and bless people with Care Packs.
We met Gadaffi, a young man seated on a grassy patch near the Surrey Central skytrain station. I looked at him with a heavy heart, wondering how he ended up on the streets. Every person created in God’s image has a God sized destiny attached to their lives. Some will respond, some will not. The Lord has asked us to sow seed, the Word of God so we gave Gadaffi the Gospel after talking with him briefly, and we must trust that the Lord will send more people his way to water the seed and God Himself will draw Gadaffi to Himself.
We also met Shirley, a lady who told us that she believes in Jesus. We talked with her for a while and Sheryl prayed for her.
There are many lonely people longing for a change in their life situation. People who are living in desperation. Jesus is their only hope. We must continue the work that the Lord has entrusted into our hands and share the Good News, that Jesus is the only solid hope to turn our lives around and never be alone, ever.
Colossians 1:27
To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
We carry God’s presence, His fragrance, Christ in us. I pray that we will all stay focused on sharing God’s love, mercy and grace with people who are looking for the Truth. Jesus is the Way, He is the Truth and He is the Life. Stay blessed.
