Operation Christmas Child 2021 Outreach
We exceeded our goal of 100 boxes! Wow, in less than a month since we launched this outreach project to send 100 shoeboxes full of gifts to children overseas through the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child project, so many people joined us to make this outreach a huge success. We are grateful and thankful to each donor who donated shoeboxes to a total of 108!
The shoeboxes will be handed over, 1st week in November to a collecting place in Richmond so that they can be shipped overseas to ensure the children receive their gifts on time for Christmas.
Mark 10:13 – 16
13 Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” 16 And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.
Below is a video of some of the gifts that were included in the boxes. Each box has a ‘wow’ gift and additional items. In the video, there is a card written by a 6 year old child who is participating with us in this outreach. Please stop the video at that point and read her card which she is sending with her shoebox gift to another child far far away. Amazing!
Be sure to also read Ronza’s testimony. Ronza received a Christmas shoebox when she was a child living in Jordan. I cannot express in words how her face lit up with excitement when Ronza knew we were going to do this outreach and now, she can participate in blessing children with Christmas shoeboxes.

A Christmas Story:
The Samaritan Purse Shoebox
The Samaritan Purse Shoebox was one of the best gifts I have ever received at Christmas time. The coloured red and green box had a fresh soapy smell that filled my heart with excitement. The box included many items that I loved. There were school supplies, dolls, colouring books, hygiene items and delicious candy.
Back in Jordan, my siblings and I used to wait eagerly every Christmas to have these boxes at our church. During the Christmas celebration, the pastor called every one of us by name to receive our shoeboxes.
After I had received my box, I could not wait until I opened it. At that time, most of the toys in the box were very expensive and hard to find in my country. So, it meant a lot to me to have such toys in my box.
Also, there used to be family letters in the boxes that contained Christmas wishes with prayers for us and our families. These boxes were truly a blessing that did put a smile on my face and brought my childhood dreams into reality.
Several years later, I moved to Canada with my family and this year, Christmas 2021 I am excited to donate shoe boxes through Sound of the Lord Mission.
The small gestures we do, have a big impact on the person receiving, especially when the recipient is a child. I still have my shoe boxes that I received when I was a child. The handwritten cards made me feel special. In God’s eyes, every child is special and loved. I wish you all a blessed and special Christmas.

Children Should Be Seen AND Heard
In answer to the disciples question “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of God?” Jesus called a little child as an example. Not a scholar, a priest, a pastor, a leader, the educated, or distinguished. Jesus called a little child.
Matthew 18:1-5
At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.
What is the difference between an adult and a child?
It is their innocence and ability to simply believe something that’s told to them, without questioning and reasoning, rationalizing and arriving at a conclusion that’s different, based on their education, knowledge or past experiences.
Isn’t that how as adults we hinder the work and miracles of God in our lives sometimes? By allowing heresies, doubt, fear and our mind to say something contrary to God’s Word?
So the old English proverb, that children should be seen and not heard just got tossed out the window by the Lord.!!
God truly loves little children, fearfully and wonderfully created in His image. Each child is unique and precious with their God given personalities, traits, giftings, skills and talents.
So let’s thank God for surrounding us with little children, whether they are our own, our neighbors or extended family, and pray, the Lord to teach us to be more like them.

Outreach to Wagner Hills Men’s Campus – Langley, BC
On Friday, October 8th we did an outreach by giving gift/care packs to bless 36 men who are going through rehab.
We are grateful to all our ministry donors, partners and supporters who are sending us into the mission field and joining us in the work of the Lord.
It is a joy for us to invest in the lives of people and cheer them on, in the path that the Lord has purposed for each person.
Colossians 3:16 & 17
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Brandon, who is the Service Plan Manager at Wagner Hills Farm Men’s Campus sent me an email with this comment:
Hello Rochelle,
“The men were overjoyed and very thankful, please let your supporters know that this small act of kindness was such a blessing”.
The picture I have included below is one of the men who is going through rehab. Please pray for all 36 of them, that they will stay the course and go back to their families, free to live out their destiny in the Lord.
We included 2 boxes of 1000 piece puzzles and other games in addition to the individual gifts.
We give thanks to the Lord as we continue this exciting adventure of living the life that God intended for each of us to live, sharing the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to whosoever will believe and receive.
